Love this bakery/cafe! It was a short walk from my Airbnb and I visited a few mornings for an iced latte and some baked goods. They have a huge selection of sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches, breakfast, and drinks. Everything I had was excellent, especially their macarons. The coffee drinks are great too, since they use quality Italian espresso. Highly recommend stopping in!

This is the 4th time I ordered my children's cake from here. They never disappoint! Beautiful and delicious! Plain with strawberry filling. I added the decorations myself and they provided me with a box that would accommodate an even higher cake. So considerate!

The place is awesome. Sandwiches are so yummy, big and with really nice ingredients. The service is attentive and fast, coffees are great and the bakery is outstanding. Totally recommended.

IL Fornaio In Astoria did an absolutely breathtaking job on my 30th birthday cake! Down to every detail, I almost mistaken it for a real Chanel bag at first , lol. I have never seen a more amazingly done, realistic cake in my entire life. They made my birthday so special and on top of the work, it tastes absolutely delicious!! (The cannoli cream icing was beyond delicious and the cake was so moist) yum… my guests couldn’t stop complimenting me on it. I recommend them 10/10!!!

After 7 years of ordering custom birthday cakes for our son at a different local bakery, this year we decided to try something new. So we decided to try il Fornaio Bakery. We gave them a photo and a sketch and provided specific details about the Super Mario theme cake we wanted. il Fornaio did not disappoint. They gave us exactly what we wanted and hoped for and it came out AMAZING, down to the very last detail. On top of that, the cake itself was delicious. It is safe to say you have earned new customers, as we will be coming back for all of our cake needs. Thank you so much for helping to make our son’s 9th Birthday so wonderful. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw his cake. AMAZING JOB!!

Ordered the Cortado and it tasted like they re-brewed already used coffee grounds. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they forgot to throw them out and put new ones into the espresso machine. It was undrinkable. I’ve had a better cortado for the same price at Sip-A-Cup a block from this place.

Every time I come to this bakery, I am NEVER disappointed. Marco and his team kill the assignment EVERY TIME! Marco is the sweetest and easiest baker to work with and really puts in hard work to make everything delicious, but also to created the most beautiful vision for you. They will not give you sloppy work. And everything tastes amazing! Their yellow cake with cannoli filling is soooo good *insert chef’s kiss*. Their rainbow cookies are the best in NYC. And the Nutella cappuccino is my go to drink all of the time.

I had a mixed feelings with this bakery. I happen to pass by it and was craving for a hot chocolate. As I previously mentioned from my other reviews, I go all over places to have a delicious hot chocolate! This place does not have a good one. Their hot chocolate tasted like Swiss mocha:(. I also tried their cream puffs and it was okay. I used my debit card and I was told to spend 10.00, so I did. Not an issue but I was hoping to be satisfied with what I bought. They only have few tables. One thing I like about this place? The decor. It has a good feel to it.
